My Battle With Behcets

a personal health blog documenting my journey with Behcet's disease

Who am I?

Who am I? My name is Caitlyn. I am a medical student. I am a daughter and a sister. I’m 25 years old. Lately, I am a patient. My disease makes me a zebra. Being a patient has consumed much of my life recently, taking over my time and pushing other aspect of my identity to the side. My days are spent going to different doctors. I see so many specialists and they all want follow up appointments. It is so hard to be anything other than a sick person. I miss being a medical student, learning how to take care of sick people. That part of my life has been on “pause” and I worry that I wont get back. I am making this blog to help me to cope with being sick and to help me rediscover who Caitlyn is. I hope that by sharing my story, all the challenges, setbacks and victories, I can help someone. Thank you for being here and following along!
